Al-Sohba Family Camp 2023
The Al-Sohba Family Camp 2023, held at Cave Hill Creek and organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran Victoria, was a spiritually uplifting retreat that brought together families from across Australia in an atmosphere of learning, reflection and unity. Over three meaningful days, participants engaged in spiritual discourse, self-reflection and communal bonding, strengthening their connection with faith and with one another.
The camp created a nurturing environment for adults, youth and children alike, fostering a shared journey of spiritual growth rooted in the values of sohba (righteous company), character development and remembrance of Allah. Each day offered unique insights, leaving attendees inspired to continue their personal and collective spiritual journeys beyond the retreat.
A major highlight of the camp was the closing ceremony on Day 3, graced by Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, who delivered a deeply impactful address on Ahwal-e-Awlia and its practical relevance in contemporary life. His reflections on the lives, states and teachings of the Awlia provided profound guidance on strengthening faith, cultivating compassion and embodying noble character in daily life. He also commended the Minhaj-ul-Quran Victoria team, with special appreciation for Rafiuddin Sahab and the dedicated youth, and personally presented certificates of participation to attendees in recognition of their commitment.
On Day 2, participants were honoured by the online presence of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, whose transformative tarbiyah lecture focused on the creation of the human being, the nature of the soul and spirit, and the influence of character traits. His guidance addressed the challenges posed by dunya, nafs and shaitan, while emphasising the immense spiritual power of righteous gatherings and blessed companionship. The session deeply resonated with attendees, encouraging self-purification, reflection and renewed spiritual resolve.
